quarantine art

after arriving in woodstock for our self quarantine during the coronavirus outbreak, i made a self portrait every day for eight days, each in a different medium. on day nine, i realized i had run out of media so i stopped.

all of my previous work has been in abstract collage. this is my first foray into figurative art as well as media beyond paper, fabric, string, and glue.

i have come to realize that my self portraits do not have to mirror my facial features to be effective representations. i chose my blue eyeglasses to represent me, as the line that connects the portraits.

Quarantine Mini Collages

After I ran out of self portrait media, I began making collages from whatever was lying around, including the rest of that New Yorker I used for my first self portrait!
